Initiation Phase

Scope

The project's Scope is the statement created during the planning phase that involves determining and documenting general project goals, deliverables and an estimated deadline. Your scope statement should represent specifics about what the final deliverable will look like along with an estimated deadline for completion. Delete the sample information below, and replace it with your Project Title, Scope Statement and 3 Primary Objectives.

Objectives

Create 3 Objectives for this project. These objectives represent three phases that, when completed, achieve the deliverables described in the scope statement.

Once these are complete, move to Step Two by using the tabs at the top of this page. You can "Save" at any point during the Initiation Phase.

Stakeholders

A stakeholder is a person, group, or other entity who has a vested interest in the project. Replace the sample text below with the stakeholder information for this project. Since you were not provided names, you may want to make them up. Have some fun with this! Use names of your family, friends, co-workers or even pets! Most projects will involve more than 3 stakeholders, so just select "+Add Row" to create additional stakeholders. Don't forget to include yourself.

Work Breakdown Structure Instructions

The project title and primary objectives have been copied into your Work Breakdown Structure (WBS). Now identify 3 secondary objectives for each primary objective. A secondary objective is simply a smaller goal that leads to the completion of a primary objective. Once this has been completed, simply click the button "Save and Return to Menu" at the bottom of the page.
